Useful information on how to access Mongolia by air and land

Mongolia is the largest landlocked country and can be accessed either by air or land.

All international and national airlines performing both international and domestic scheduled and non-regular charter flights are served by the Chinggis Khaan International Airport (IATA code - UBN), a comparably new airport that was put into operation in November 2021.

The previous airport Buyant-Ukhaa International airport (which temporary used 'Chinggis Khaan' name before the new airport's operation) is now a base airport for all air companies of Mongolia and acts mostly as a reserve airport for emergency landings of commercial flights and as a training ground and cargo terminal.
